Microsoft rushes to patch Internet Explorer

Hack gets Microsoft on defensive, fast

The severity of a recent security issue with IE has been confirmed by Microsoft, as the company has immediately rushed a patch out.

Microsoft issues patches once a month under normal circumstances, and only changes this in very unusual cases.

The patch is intended to fix a widespread and serious flaw with IE that has seen global exploits.

Graham Cluley, senior technology consultant at security company Sophos said: “Microsoft is reacting faster to security threats, and they’ve put a lot of effort into getting this fixed so fast. However, users still have to download and install the patch, which is often overlooked.”
